Join us in June as Hutchinson celebrates becoming Smallville, Kansas — home of Clark Kent!

Smallville Festival kicks-off on the Third Thursday in June where the proclamation is read, and Hutchinson, Kansas, will officially change its name to Smallville, Kansas; home of Clark Kent, better known as Superman.

Smallville Festival becomes a way for our community to celebrate what makes small-town living SUPER! This celebration focuses on small-town values like: traditions, hard work, grit, determination, and pride in where we live.

    Join us for the ultimate Smallville experience at Third Thursday’s Smallville Festival Kick-Off! Take in the charm of Hutchinson as it transforms into the iconic Smallville, the legendary home of Clark Kent. Witness history in the making as the proclamation is read,  officially changing the town’s name to Smallville.

    But that’s not all! Bring the whole family and participate in the Annual Smallville Kids Costume Contest, with FREE registration for all budding superheroes and heroines. Let your imagination soar as you explore the heart of Downtown Smallville, where FREE and FUN family activities await around every corner.

    Experience the magic of Smallville Festival Friday as we honor our local heroes! Join us for a Local Hero luncheon at the esteemed Reno County Museum, where we celebrate the individuals who make our community truly extraordinary; Smallville’s First Responders.

    As the sun sets, head over to Smallville’s Historic Fox Theatre for a FREE movie.

    But the night is far from over! Get ready to groove and move on Main Street at Salt City Brewing, where the vibes are unbeatable. Delight in a LIVE street concert featuring the sensational Logan Mize, as we dance the night away in celebration of all things Smallville.

    Get ready for an action-packed Super Saturday in Smallville, where the fun never stops! Kick off your morning with a thrilling adventure 650 feet below the earth’s surface at the Smallville 5K in the Salt Mine Museum at Strataca. Feel the excitement as you race through the underground tunnels and experience the unique beauty of Smallville’s salt mines.

    For those who prefer a different kind of challenge, head to Rice Park for the Smallville Open Disc Golf Tournament. Test your skills and compete against fellow enthusiasts in this exciting outdoor competition.

    As the day unfolds, families can embark on an intergalactic journey at the Cosmosphere with Smallville’s Amazing Space Race! Explore the wonders of the universe through engaging activities and interactive exhibits that will captivate adventurers of all ages.

    Meanwhile, comic book enthusiasts won’t want to miss the ALL NEW Hutch Comic Con at the Kansas State Fair Grounds. Dive into the world of superheroes, villains, and everything in between as you browse through comic collections, meet artists, and immerse yourself in pop culture fandom.

    And for the grand finale, join us at the Smallville Fair, Food, and Tunes at the Fairgrounds. Indulge in delicious fair food favorites and groove to the rhythm of live music performances, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Saturday June 22 | 8 a.m.| Smallville Open Disc Golf Tournament

    Join us for the Smallville Open Disc Golf Tournament. Only $15/person! Get ready to showcase your skills and compete against players in your division. Divisions include: 8-12 yrs old, 13-15 yrs old, 16-18 yrs old, and 19 & older. We kicks off with a shot-gun start, so be sure to arrive early to check in on the day of the event.
