Summer Day Camps & Enrichment

Hutch Rec provides quality, affordable, and safe camps throughout the summer, ranging from state-licensed child care programs to featured theme camps at Dillon Nature Center and Carey Park. Enrichment and skill classes also are available for all ages and held at various locations throughout the summer.

Summer Camps

  • Stay to Play Summer Day Camp
    Plum Creek & Graber Elementary

    We offer a state-licensed school-aged child care in the summer at two off-site locations — Plum Creek & Graber Elementary. Our Stay to Play Summer Day Camp program is for youth who have finished Kindergarten through 6th grade in the current school year. Weekly activities include field trips, swimming at Salt City Splash Aquatic Center, recreation and enrichment activities, as well as educational opportunities. Camp is open to all students in the area.

    • Week 1: May 26-29 (no meeting on Memorial Day Monday) Field Trip: Cosmosphere
    • Week 2: June 1-5, Field Trip: Sedgwick County Zoo
    • Week 3: June 8-12, Field Trip: Downtown Hutch service day
    • Week 4: June 15-19, Field Trip: Botanica
    • Week 5: June 22-26, Field Trip: Swensson Park and Lindsborg Pool
    • Week 6: June 29-July 2 (closed July 3 for July 4 holiday), Field Trip: Stay to Play Carnival
    • Week 7: July 6-10, Field Trip: Exploration Place
    • Week 8: July 13-17, Field Trip: Museum of World Treasures (end of Camp at Graber Elementary)
    • Week 9: July 20-24, Field Trip: Sterling Swimming Pool (for Plum Creek Only)

     

  • DNC Adventure Camp

    This one-week camp at Dillon Nature Center has provided outdoor fun and exploration for 50 years and counting! Campers enjoy a week filled with canoeing, archery, fishing, hiking, and much more. Participants must have completed Kindergarten through 6th grades.

    2026 Season:
    • Week #1: June 1-5 from 9a-3p
    • Week #2: June 8-12 from 9a-3p
    • Week #3: June 15-19 from 9a-3p
    • Week #4: June 22-26 from 9a-3p
    • Week #5: July 6-10 from 9a-3p

  • DNC Preschool Adventure Camp

    We have taken our Summer Adventure Camp for grade schoolers and adapted it to preschoolers! This camp is exclusively for children ages 3 to 5 years old. Campers will enjoy many of the same activities of our older camp participants, but modified to the preschool ages.

    2026 Season:
    • Mini Camp: June 29-July 2 from 9-11:30 a.m. – note we will not meet on Friday, July 3
    • Session 1: July 13-17 from 9-11:30 a.m.
    • Session 2: July 20-24 from 9-11:30 a.m.
    • Session 3: July 27-31 from 9-11:30 a.m.
    • Session 4: August 3-7 from 9-11:30 a.m.

  • Play in the Park Arts & Theatre Camp

    Join us for 4 weeks of theatre arts camps with our community partners, Family Community Theatre! Campers will also perform their play on Friday!

    Play in the Park is for youth ages 8-12 years old.

    2026 Season:
    • Week #1: June 22-26 from 9a-12p (“Magical Creatures”)

    • Week #2: July 6-10 from 9a-12p (“Fables & Folktales”)
      • Registration Deadline: July 1

    Ages: 2-3yrs.
