This part-time position at Dillon Nature Center will assist the Education Coordinator with nature center’s educational and recreational programming. This position involves conducting outdoor and indoor environmental education programs focused on the ecology of Central Kansas. It will also involve helping with recreational activities such as canoeing and team building.
Individuals must have experience working with groups of children. They must be a good communicator, and a background in natural resources, biology, and/or science education is desirable. He/she must be willing to learn and should have a genuine interest in the conservation of our natural resources. The Education Assistant must be available during weekdays and some weekends, on a schedule that is mutually agreed upon with the Education Coordinator. Most of the hours would be in the months of April, May, September, and October when school visitation is at its highest.
The number of hours per week will vary and be scheduled in cooperation with the Education Coordinator. Starting pay is $10/hour, depending on experience.
