Arts & Humanities Programmer

HUTCH REC: ARTS & HUMANITIES PROGRAMMER

Status: Part-time, 20-29 hours per week
Starting Salary:$12-$15 per hour, DOQ
Reports to: Executive Director of Hutchinson Recreation Commission

JOB SUMMARY: Through the leadership of the Hutchinson/Reno County Arts & Humanities Council and under the direction of the Hutchinson Recreation Commission Executive Director, this position’s primary responsibility is to implement arts, humanities, and cultural programs/events in Hutchinson and Reno County communities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and manage arts, humanities, and cultural programs/events for the residents of Hutchinson and Reno County
  • Propose, monitor, and assess budgets for programs/events
  • Research local and regional history in arts and humanities
  • Write grant applications and administer grant funding
  • Assist the Director of Community Events in ensuring continued arts and humanities programming during Third Thursdays, Farmer’s Market, and other cultural events
  • Assist the Director of Marketing & Development in the promotion of programs/events through publications, website, and social media platforms
  • Solicit sponsorships for programs/events
  • Additional duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Candidates should have a considerable knowledge of arts, humanities, and culture programming, and public engagement. Ability to work courteously and effectively with public and all partner agencies and stakeholders. Requires efficiency in time management skills, the ability to plan ahead and to organize responsibilities on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one or two years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Marketing Coordinator

HUTCH REC: MARKETING COORDINATOR

Status: Full-time (40 hours/week) with medical and leave benefits

Starting Salary: $35,000-$40,000 annually, DOQ

Reports to: Director of Marketing & Development

JOB SUMMARY: Under direction of the Director of Marketing & Development, this position’s primary responsibility is to implement the organization’s overall look and brand in the community through graphic design, publication design, website updates, social media presence, and other marketing of events and programs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the organization’s social media presence
  • Coordinates the design for the seasonal Activity Guide, newsletters, flyers, posters, and various publications
  • Designs digital graphics for organization
  • Oversees video and animated graphic production
  • Represents Hutch Rec at various community events, fairs, expos, etc.
  • Coordinates the website management and updates
  • Updates customer databases used for effective and efficient marketing
  • Assists with the development of sponsorship packages and brochures
  • Assists in the research and development of new marketing platforms
  • Additional duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and experience in graphic design, primarily in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as the initiative to learn website administration and other duties as assigned. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills while working independently on projects also required and expected. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for events, is required. Position open until filled.

    • Officials and Umpires are an integral part of our programs and tournaments. We are always looking for quality baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball officials and umpires. Your duties will include facilitating a specific game, knowing all rules for the sport and league or tournament, maintaining positive communication with coaches, players and staff, and other duties as assigned by the tournament or league director.

    • Brief Job Description: Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the scorekeeper will assist the Hutch Rec staff in keeping score for league or tournament play. A basic understanding of the sport is necessary for the position. It is the responsibility of the score keeper to post the score on the score board and keep an accurate score book or score sheet. Training will be provided for scorekeepers that need assistance with keeping book. Their position will include other duties as assigned by site supervisor.
