2010 Salty Dog and Salty Pup Triathlon Competitor Details

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Friday, August 13th
6:30 p.m.: Registration packet pick-up at the Homebuilder's Shelter building, located across from Salt City Splash in Carey Park. 
7 p.m.: Question/Answer session at the Homebuilder's Shelter building
(Strongly encouraged for all participants!)
 
Saturday, August 14th - RACE DAY!!
5:30-6:30 a.m.: Registration at Homebuilder's Shelter building (packets may be picked up at this time if they were not picked up on Friday night, but EVERYONE must register and get their numbers - even those who picked up their packets the night before!)
6:30-6:45 a.m.: Competitors meeting at Salt City Splash entrance (required)
7 a.m.: Salty Dog Triathlon begins. The Salty Pup Triathlon will begin once the Salty Dog swimmers have left the pool area.
 
RULES AND REMINDERS:
All participants are required to wear bike helmets during the bike portion of the event. Bike checks are not mandatory for the Salty Dog, but are required for all Salty Pup participants. Bike checks are availalbe by Harley's Bicycles in the gazebo at the end of the Splash parking lot. These services are available free of charge.
 
Parents/Guardians of Salty Pup participants are not allowed in the transition or race areas. A Salty Pup coordinator will be available that morning accompanying the youth to the swim area, and then helping them in the transition area as needed. WEATHER CANCELATION POLICY:
In case of inclement weather, the event may be delayed up to three (3) hours from the original start time or cancelled, depending on severity of conditions. Safety of the participants is the top priority of Hutchinson Recreation Commission. Rain may cause unsafe bicycling or running conditions, as does lightning. Due to the costs and planning of putting together an event of this magnitutde, refunds will not be given. No make-up dates will be scheduled.
 
 
 

2010 Salty Pup information

Information for Salty Pup Triathlon:
* Bike Check is REQUIRED for all Salty Pup participants. Harley's Bicycles will provide bike checks from 5:30-6:30 a.m. in the gazebo at the end of the Salt City Splash parking lot.
* Registration is just like the Salty Dog Triathlon. Participants will need to check in and pick up packets and get a number at the Homebuilder's Shelter.
* Salty Pup participants will have a separate transition area with their own bike racks. A coordinator will be availalbe to help all Salty Pup athletes with their equipment and to assist with transitions.
* Salty Pup Triathlon will begin 30 minutes after the final Salty Dog swimmer has entered the pool. This will be about 8:30 a.m. The coordinator will be with the athletes during their wait period - they will wait with the other participants inside the Salt City Splash.
* Parents and guardians are NOT allowed in the transition area once the triathlon begins. A coordinator will be available to help participants.
* Salty Pup athletes will be given a yellow wristband to wear that will help volunteers distinguish between Salty Pup and Salty Dog athletes. It is to be worn at all times - more information will be given at registration.
